Nancy studied creative writing at Texas Tech University, where she earned both a B.A. and M.A. in literature. She was born in Florida into a military family and has lived in two countries, six states, and countless apartments and houses. As a result, a common theme in her poetry and short stories is change, as well as a search for identity and place, and a yearning for home.
She makes her home in Athens, Georgia, after finally realizing that home is wherever she chooses. Nancy works at a library, where she feels lucky to be paid to talk about books all day.
