        Read-In with us in August!

        • Thursday, August 24, 2017

          6:30 PM to 8:30 PM

        • Barnes and Noble

          3650 Atlanta Highway, Athens, GA

Come out for our monthly public reading group where you can share your stories, poetry, non-fiction, blogs, or any other writing you’d like to read aloud to a supportive circle of your writing peers for accolades, comments, feedback, and applause! It’s a great opportunity to practice your public speaking skills – imagine a rehearsal for that book tour around the world someday! Time limit is 20 minutes per person for both reading and feedback so keep that in mind when choosing the length of your selection. This is ** not ** a critique group so written copies are not needed – this is an informal and spontaneous response group. If you cannot attend the entire meeting, no problem! Come late or leave early, and also – it is not mandatory to read your own work, but please come prepared to listen and give feedback to your fellow writers. Barnes and Noble Cafe also has a policy of no outside food or drink, but they do have a plethora of drinks and food for purchase. They have been excellent hosts so please respect their wishes. Any questions, comments or suggestions – let us know!

Sharing the Journey: A Gathering of Writers

  • Sunday, August 27, 2017

    4:00 PM

    Jittery Joe’s

1880 Epps Bridge Pkwy Suite #101, Athens, GA

  • Join AWA founder Katherine Cerulean to share the fire, excitement, joy, and yes — occasional travails of the writing life. We’ll discuss what we’re working on, new influences, answer questions, and talk about everything writing-related under the sun. Leave with excitement and a renewed passion for your craft!
    New writers are always welcome.

NOTE: As summer draws to a close, we pack up the inflatable sea serpent and put away those flipflops and leave our “summer” home at Jittery Joes East Side for our usual “winter” haunt. What’s all this nonsense mean? This meeting will take place at the Epps Bridge Jittery Joes!
